We've all been there and chances are, we'll be there again, probably more than once in the future. People with whom we have personal or professional relationships do something which leaves us disappointed. It sucks but it happens. After all, let's be honest here, we've all let down others sometime in our lives as well.
Late yesterday afternoon, I was let down. Out of the blue, an associate threw in the towel on some projects we were working together, or at least, I thought we were. The pull-out was unexpected, handled in an unprofessional manner and left me hurt, frustrated and angry. Past promises and reassurances were snatched away from one minute to the next. "It's all good," and "All is well," turned into crap in the blink of an eye.
So, what next? A couple of stiff drinks, a quiet evening with my lovely wife, a good night's sleep and now it's time to surge ahead. Anyways, that's my philosophy. Get the bitching and swearing quickly out of the way, formulate a new plan of action and turn the disaster into new opportunities. That's what I've already started doing.
I'll survive being let down.
